Cancer research, like all fields of scientific research, covers a broad spectrum of investigations ranging from the basic to the applied. While cancer research at Georgia Tech represents the full spectrum, the emphasis, as is perhaps typical of an engineering school, is on the applied. There are two general areas of cancer biology where Georgia Tech researchers are having a significant impact-diagnostics and therapeutics.
